In year 2012, DPC had the 56th Jasmine Movement at New York Times Square to condemn what the authority of Chinese Communist Party (CCP) committed crimes against the Chinese people and human rights. The movement also supports the Chinese people's fight for opposing tyranny and maintaining legal rights. The Common President of DPC, Wang Juntao, led the movement and New York City Work Unit Director, Zhang Jian, chaired the rally.

   

President Wang Juntao told he members on the site that current China is staging a farce, that is so called "National People's Congress (NPC) by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). At NPC and CPPCC, members don't talk about people's hardship, not even discuss the issue what people concern about, such as anti-corruption and anti-house removal. During the NPC and CPPCC, the CCP put more than 700,000 armed police and spies to keep watch and suppress people. The Chinese petitioners tried to reflect their problems and opinions to the NPC members. What they got back was illegally detained, jailed and beaten up by the armed police of CCP. The NPC doesn't represent people, but oppose people. The DPC had the protest activity at New York Times Square to voice ourselves and let people on the world know that we want to end the One-party autocracy, build constitutional government law and democracy and hand state power back to people. Not only Chinese people need economical development and life improvement, but also more need safety, respect and legal rights. The event happened in last month that Wang Lijun hid in the U.S. Embassy. It showed that the corrupt officials of CCP also lacked safety in the system of the CCP autocracy. They also know that the U.S. in a country with human rights and governed by law.

President Zhang Jian spoke to the members that China will go on the path with democracy and constitutional government in one day. The DPC is the cornerstone of this movement. We are in the U.S. and feel the atmosphere of elections with democracy. We know that the "NPC and CPPCC" are so ridiculous and shame. President Zhang Jian expressed his deep respect and support to fight for democracy, legal rights and religious freedom in China.

With the Inspired speech by President Wang Juntao and Zhang Jian, party members chanted the slogans, "NPC is illegal!", "Protest against police country!", "Protest for the missing citizen!", "Protest for suppressed petitioners!", "Protest trampled human rights!" , " The CCP doesn't represent people!", "End One-party Autocracy!", "Build Constitutional government!", "Freedom China!", "Human Right China!", "Democracy China!".

Then, the Office Director Zhang Yuhong led to sing <<Such a Beautiful Jasmine>>.
